The Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system mixes exhaust gases into the air passing through the intake

Diluting the air/fuel mixture going in to diesel engines, lowers combustion temperatures and reduces the formation of
harmful gases called oxides of Nitrogen or NOx.

Why do Diesel EGR Systems need to be serviced?

Diesel engine EGR systems operate under extreme conditions and can quickly become clogged with carbon deposits that affect the fuel economy and performance of a vehicle.

Carbon deposits can cause the EGR valve to stick open, disrupting the air-fuel ratio resulting in reduced power, poor acceleration, rough idle, and even turbo pressure leaks.

These deposits can also cause the EGR to stick closed causing engine knocking, higher engine temperatures, increased emissions of oxides of Nitrogen or NOx, and reduced fuel efficiency.

How to Perform the BG Diesel EGR
System Service

The BG Diesel EGR System Service is a two-part cleaning process utilizing BG Diesel EGR System Cleaner and BG Diesel EGR System Rinse.

The service is performed using the BG 64 Diesel VIA® to soften and remove carbon deposits from the EGR valve, cooler, and EGR pathways leading to the intake manifold.
