WARNING! Noncompliance with the Operating Instructions can result in danger to people, the environment and the equipment.

Only use original accessories. BG Products, Inc., accepts no liability for accidents caused by components from other sources.

Never use excessive force on the pumping lever of the grease gun or extend it with unapproved items such as pipes, etc. This could generate unacceptably high pressures that may bend/damage internal components of the pump suction tube.

Instructions
  1. Open the grease container and use a scraper to smooth and even the grease surface to prevent air from becoming trapped under the follower piston. As the grease level lowers, trapped air-bubbles may be forced into the suction-tube tip and create a cavity that interrupts the grease flow and leaves residual grease to the sidewall of the container.
  2. Push the grease follower piston onto the grease.
  3. Place the pump lid onto the grease pail or drum.
  4. Loosen all three lid wingnuts and push the slides toward the center.
  5. Push the pegs to move the retainer hooks outward as far as they will go.
  6. Adjust the lid so that the retainer hooks are on the outside of the grease container and the slides are on the inside of the grease container.
  7. Push the wingbolts to move the slides outward as far as they will go. The lid will automatically center itself on the grease container.
  8. Keeping the wingbolt pushed outward, push the retainer hook pegs inward as far as they will go. Tighten the wingnut.
  9. Adjust the two remaining pegs and tighten the wingnuts. Check that the lid is seated firmly on the grease container.
  10. The pump can now be pushed through the clamp on the lid down to the container bottom and locked in place with the clamping bolt.
  11. Push refill adaptor onto the filler pipe to open the backlash valve inside. Tighten wingnut to lock in place.
NOTE: Grease will not flow through the pump unless backlash valve is open.
  12. Insert cartridge follower all the way to the neck of an empty grease cartridge. Screw the empty grease cartridge onto the refill adaptor.
  13. Fill cartridge until cartridge follower is 3/8 inch (10 mm) from end of cartridge.
