Never use excessive force on the pumping lever of the grease gun or extend it with unapproved items such as pipes, etc. This could generate unacceptably high pressures that may bend/damage internal components of the pump suction tube.

1. Open the grease container and use a scraper to smooth and even the grease surface to prevent air from becoming trapped under the follower piston. As the grease level lowers, trapped air-bubbles may be forced into the suction-tube tip and create a cavity that interrupts the grease flow and leave residual grease to the sidewall of the container.
2. Push the grease follower piston onto the grease.
3. Seat the bolt-on lid firmly onto the grease drum.
4. Tighten all three lid bolts uniformly.
5. The pump can now be pushed through the clamp on the lid down to the container bottom and locked in place with the clamping bolt.
6. Push refill adaptor onto the filler pipe to open the backlash valve inside. Tighten wingnut to lock in place.
   NOTE: Grease will not flow through the pump unless backlash valve is open.
7. Insert cartridge follower all the way to the neck of an empty grease cartridge. Screw the empty grease cartridge onto the refill adaptor.
8. Fill cartridge until cartridge follower is 3/8 inch (10 mm) from end of cartridge.
