INSTRUCTIONS
Wear safety goggles to protect your eyes.

Wear a long-sleeved shirt to protect your arms.

IMPORTANT! Read product Safety Data Sheet before use. Always store BG VIA® in a vertical position to prevent spills.

Fuel Injection Cleaning on GDI and Systems without Fuel Return Line
  1. Start engine and bring to operating temperature. Shut off engine.
  2. Add 11 oz./325 mL of BG 44K,® PN 208, to fuel tank.
  3. Verify that there is no air pressure in the BG VIA® (gauge reads 0 PSI).
  4. With the ball valve in the OFF position (perpendicular to the line), remove the fill cap on the top of BG VIA® and fill with BG fuel injection cleaner. Replace fill cap, hand tighten.
  5. Hang BG VIA® on the BG Shop IV Stand, PN 97902-001, and attach air supply.
  6. Locate and disconnect the fuel feed line from the vehicle.
  7. Connect BG VIA® to engine side of fuel system with appropriate adaptor.
IMPORTANT! Only connect BG VIA® to the low pressure side on GDI engines!
  8. Block off flow from fuel tank side of fuel system by using appropriate adaptor capped off or by disabling the fuel pump.
  9. Pressurize BG VIA® by setting air regulator to vehicle-required fuel pressure.
  10. Open ball valve on BG VIA® and start engine. Make sure all electrical loads are turned off (A/C, blower fan, headlights, etc.).
  11. Allow engine to run at idle speed until cleaner in BG VIA® is used up and the engine starts to stumble or stalls.
  12. Remove the air supply from BG VIA.® Press and hold pressure release button on side of BG VIA® until gauge reads 0 PSI.
  13. Close ball valve and remove BG VIA® and adaptors from engine.
  14. Reconnect fuel feed line, cycle the ignition on and off several times to prime the fuel system.
  15. Start engine. Clear any codes that may have set. Road test vehicle.
Fuel Injection Cleaning on Systems with Fuel Return Line
  1. Start engine and bring to operating temperature. Shut off engine.
  2. Add 11 oz./325 mL of BG 44K,® PN 208, to fuel tank. Do not replace fuel cap until after completing service.
  3. Disable fuel pump. On some systems, the pump must be unplugged at the tank. Removing the fuel pump fuse may disable the ignition system.
  4. With ball valve in the OFF position (perpendicular to the hose), remove fill cap on the top of BG VIA® and fill with BG fuel injection cleaner. Replace fill cap, hand tighten.
  5. Hang BG VIA® on BG Shop IV Stand, PN 97902-001, and attach air supply.
  6. Attach BG VIA® supply hose to test port. On systems without test port, remove fuel line on inlet side of fuel
rail and attach hose using compatible adaptor.
  7. Close off return fuel line with hose pliers or plug line if it cannot be clamped.
  8. Adjust air regulator to pressurize BG VIA® to approximately 40 PSI.
  9. Open ball valve and start engine. If engine stumbles after starting, do not tap the throttle! Adjust air regulator
    to achieve best idle.
  10. Allow engine to run at idle speed until cleaner in BG VIA® is used up and the engine starts to stumble or stalls.
  11. Remove hose pliers from return fuel line or remove plug, if used.
  12. Close ball valve and remove supply hose from fuel rail.
CAUTION! Fuel rail may still be under pressure.
  13. Reconnect inlet fuel line and activate fuel pump.
  14. Replace cap on fuel tank.
  15. Start engine. Clear any codes that may have set. Road test vehicle.
