Extension Actuator, PN E101-5513

Set-up

  1. Verify the BG Universal Spray Applicator is depressurized by pressing and holding the small pressure release button on top of the tool.
  2. Remove the canister by turning it clockwise. If necessary, remove empty product can from the canister.
  3. Inspect the O-ring inside the tool for any signs of damage.
  4. Open a new can of BG Air Intake System Cleaner, PN 206, with the opener located on the top of the trigger.
  5. Place the can into the canister.
  6. Insert the sprayer top straw into the can, align the three retainer pegs with the canister channels, and quarter-turn the canister counter-clockwise to lock it onto the sprayer top. When the canister is locked into place, external position indicators will align and an audible “click” may be heard.
  7. Install the Extension Actuator, PN E101-5513, onto the sprayer top.
  8. Attach an air line with 80–125 psi to the air chuck on the tool handle.
  9. Remove the air line after approximately 3 seconds.

Application

  1. Locate a vacuum line that leads to the intake manifold. (Finding a vacuum line that enters the intake in a central location is optimal.)
  2. Disconnect vacuum line. Install the barbed end of the BG AeroCone,  PN E101-2645, into the open end of the vacuum line.
  3. Start vehicle and bring to operating temperature.
  4. Insert straw tip of the Extension Actuator into the application end of the BG AeroCone.
  5. Apply the product in short bursts. Be sure not to stall the engine.
NOTE: Engine designs will vary, adjust the duration of the bursts accordingly.
  6. Apply product intermittently for 45 seconds. After 45 seconds, stop spraying and remove straw from the BG AeroCone. Place BG Universal Spray Applicator away from the vehicle.
  7. Rev the engine (snap throttle) to a target RPM of 3,500 quickly three times and allow engine to return to idle.
  8. Repeat steps 4 through 7 to dispense the remainder of cleaner.
  9. Let the engine idle for 15 minutes.
  10. Immediately test drive the vehicle to clear any residual cleaner.
  11. Clear any codes that may have set.

Recommendation: Change oil and filter after service.

Notes:

  • The tool will spray a small amount of product if used upside down before evacuating only air.
  • Always store the tool in an upright position.
