Remove Used Fluid
- Verify the Service Selector (V) is in the “Off” (O) position.
- Connect shop air to the machine.
- Connect appropriate size wand to the Extractor. Trim the wand to size as needed. TIP: A shorter wand with a large diameter will speed up the service.
- Turn the Service Selector (V) to “Remove” (–). TIP: For faster fluid removal, allow vacuum to build to approximately 20 inHg before proceeding.
- Insert Extractor wand into the component port on the vehicle and open the ball valve on the Extractor to start removing fluid.
- Once all the fluid has been removed, close the ball valve on the Extractor and remove the wand from the component.
- Turn the Service Selector (V) to “Off” (O).
Install New Fluid
- Verify the Service Selector (V) is in the “Off” (O) position.
- Connect shop air to the machine.
- Raise the Drawtube by lifting up on the knob located on top of the machine. Place a new fluid container onto the mat and lower the Drawtube into the container.*
- Connect appropriate size wand to the Dispenser. TIP: A shorter wand with a large diameter will speed up the service.
- Insert the Dispenser wand into the component port on the vehicle and turn the Service Selector (V) to “Add” (+).
- Pull the trigger on the Dispenser to start filling the vehicle. When the desired amount of fluid has been added, release the trigger and remove the wand from the component.
- Turn the Service Selector (V) to “Off” (O).
*Using the Bulk Option
- Set the Bulk Selector (M) to “F” to use the Drawtube or “R” to draw from the container on the Bulk Platform.
- 16 Gallon Drums: Roll drum onto Bulk Platform and secure with the Foot Pedal.
- 5 Gallon Pail: Place pail in Bulk Platform cutout.
- Install Draw Weight to the bottom of the drum or pail.
- Secure with Bulk Container Cap. It threads on either a drum or a pail. (Return to step 4 to continue with new fluid install.)
- When not in use, Bulk Platform can be stored by flipping up and using the Foot Pedal to hook on the rod. When the bulk fluid hose is not in use, it can be hung on the console access panel so that excess fluid drips onto the mat.
Emptying Used Fluid Tank (U)
- Verify the Service Selector (V) is in the “Off” (O) position and the ball valve on the end of the Extractor is closed.
- Connect shop air to the machine.
- Place and secure the Extractor wand into a suitable waste container.
- Turn the Service Selector (V) to “Empty” (E).
- Slowly open the ball valve on the Extractor.
- When the Used Fluid Tank (U) is empty, close the ball valve on the Extractor, turn the Service Selector (V) to the “Off” (O) position, and remove the wand.
Note: Early models have “S” instead of “V” to indicate Service Selector.
Inspection and Maintenance
Before each use, inspect the general condition of the BG MAX machine. Verify container under the mat is not full. Check for loose screws, misaligned or binding parts, cracked or broken parts, and any other condition that may affect the safe operation. If any of these conditions exist, have the problems corrected before further use. Do not use damaged equipment.
