BG CFX Power Flush Service
INSTRUCTIONS
IMPORTANT! The following instructions must be read and understood before attempting to use the BG CFX Cooling Fluid Exchanger. Read product Safety Data Sheet before handling any BG product.
- Caution: Heavy object. Consider mechanical aid or at least a two-person team lift when lifting machine.
- Make sure this service is performed in a well-ventilated area.
- Keep all hoses and tools away from moving engine parts.
- Check all lines, hoses, and points of connection for cracks and leaks before and after service.
- WARNING! Use EXTREME CAUTION when removing radiator cap to prevent being burned by hot fluid escaping the cooling system. Use EXTREME CAUTION when handling hoses and adaptors as they can reach the same temperature as coolant.
- WARNING! Fluid ejection hazard. Do not run machine unless properly connected to a cooling system.
- Ensure that the BG CFX Service Selector (V) is in the “Off” (O) position, and the Pressure Regulator (R) is turned all the way down (to the left) before connecting to shop air.
- Dispose of cooling system fluids and filters in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- The BG CFX Cooling Fluid Exchanger is designed for use only with BG products described in these instructions. The use of any other chemicals or fluids with this system will void all warranties and could create hazardous conditions. DO NOT use the BG CFX to pump or transfer any flammable or combustible liquids.
- Caution: Operator can lose control of the machine while moving on uneven or inclined surfaces, risking the machine tipping over and causing injury to personnel or damage to property.

The BG CFX Cooling Fluid Exchanger comes with Suction Wand, PN E101-5358.
Before performing service, the BG CFX Power Flush Service Set, PN E101-7154, must be installed.
- Verify the New and Used Service Hoses are not attached to any adaptors and are securely docked on the BG CFX.
- Verify the Service Selector (V) is in the “Off” position. Set pressure to zero.
- Fill the New Fluid Tank (T2) with the desired amount of water or coolant and secure the New Fluid Fill Cap.
- Connect shop air to the BG CFX.
- Determine the correct size of adaptor and attach it to the Power Flush Service Hose.
- Attach the quick connect end of the Power Flush Service Hose to the Power Flush Purge Connector (P) on the baseplate of the BG CFX.
- Connect the other end of the Power Flush Service Hose to the vehicle or component to be flushed. Secure with a worm gear clamp.
- Determine the correct size of adaptor and attach it to the Power Flush Drain Hose.
- Connect the Power Flush Drain Hose to the outlet of the vehicle or component to be flushed.
- Place the open end of the Power Flush Drain Hose into a suitable waste container.
- Verify the ball valve on the Power Flush Service Hose is in the “closed” position.
- Turn the Service Selector (V) to “Service”.
- Set the Pressure Regulator (R) to the desired pressure. (See CFX Flow Rate Chart below.)
- Open the ball valve on the Power Flush Service Hose to start the power flush service.
- When the New Fluid Tank (T2) is out of coolant or desired flush is complete, close the ball valve on the Power Flush Service Hose.
- Refill and repeat steps 12–15 as necessary.
- When the flush is complete, turn the Service Selector (V) to the “Off” position.
- Turn the Pressure Regulator (R) counterclockwise to set pressure to zero.
- Disconnect the adaptors and hoses from the vehicle or component.
- Remove the Power Flush Service Hose from the Power Flush Purge Connector (P) on the baseplate and store both hoses until the next service.

the stated values for fine tuning of the flow rate.
