INSTRUCTIONS
for BG Power Steering Service
Wear safety goggles to protect your eyes.
Wear Nitrile®, Neoprene® or PVC gloves to protect your hands.
Wear a long-sleeved shirt to protect your arms.

IMPORTANT! Read product Safety Data Sheet before use. Use only BG products with this machine.

Prime the BG 12V Power Steering Service System by installing a new bottle of BG power steering fluid and loop the end of the hoses using the narrow extension hose. Turn on the “New Fluid In” switch to pump fluid through both lines.

If the BG 12V Power Steering Service System will not prime, check for a broken or cracked filter, or a cut line.

After opening the strainer to check or clean it, replace the O-ring with a new one.

Do not operate the BG 12V Power Steering Service System without a filter.

  1. Remove cap on vehicle’s power steering fluid reservoir. Insert hoses into reservoir. If the opening is too small for the hoses or if it is the dipstick type, insert the narrow transfer hose into the hose ends and cut to desired length.
IMPORTANT! The system is designed to remove old fluid from the bottom and install new fluid in at the top. Make sure the used fluid hose is as close as possible to the bottom of the power steering reservoir to remove the maximum amount of used fluid.
  2. Connect power cables to vehicle’s battery.
CAUTION! Make sure all wires and hoses are clear of fans and belts!
  3. Connect a new bottle of BG Power Clean, PN 332, BG Power Clean Red, PN 332R, or BG Premium Synthetic Power Steering Fluid, PN 334, to the New fluid bottle attachment.
  4. Connect an empty bottle to the Empty bottle attachment.
  5. Turn “Used Fluid Out” switch on long enough to remove 11 oz. (325 mL) of used fluid from the vehicle’s power steering fluid reservoir. Remove hoses.
  6. Install one 11 oz. (325 mL) can BG Quick Clean for Power Steering, PN 108.
  7. Replace vehicle’s power steering fluid reservoir cap and run engine for 15 minutes. Cycle steering wheel from stop to stop several times to circulate cleaner through all components.
  8. Turn engine off. Remove cap on vehicle’s power steering fluid reservoir. Insert hoses into reservoir.
CAUTION! Make sure all wires and hoses are clear of fans and belts!
  9. Prime the BG 12V Power Steering Service System by turning on both pump switches briefly to fill the lines.
  10. Start vehicle. Turn on both pump switches. For a thorough fluid exchange, cycle steering wheel from stop to stop several times.
  11. Turn machine off when bubbles form in the New fluid hose.
  12. Stop engine. Check fluid level, adjust if needed.
  13. Remove hoses and cables. Replace cap on the vehicle’s power steering fluid reservoir.
