BG breaks ground on 34,000-square-foot facility

WICHITA, KAN – January 17, 2018 – In a private ceremony on January 23 at 4:00 p.m., the BG Products Board of Directors, CEO Darin Greseth, BG employees, and Dondlinger Construction will gather with golden shovels to officially break ground on the BG Technology and Training Center. The project will include a new chemistry lab, an automotive testing facility, and expanded space for BG University chemistry and sales training.

Chemistry Lab:

“BG earned the reputation of leader in innovation for a reason,” said Dustin Willhite, BG Director of Product Technology. “Our chemists work tirelessly improving current formulas and developing new products to keep up with constant changes in the automotive industry. I’m thrilled we will have the facility to keep pace with that demand,” said Willhite.

Automotive Testing Facility:

BG’s highly trained technicians perform extensive on-vehicle testing of all of BG products and services. “It’s not enough to test products and send them out the door,” said Jay Erwin, BG Proving Ground Director. “This expansion will allow for more service bays and workstations so we can increase efficiency in our testing.”

BG University:

Car care education is important to BG. The new facility will allow us to expand and improve our training efforts. “It’s important for automotive service shops to recommend the right maintenance programs to consumers and it’s up to our field representatives to communicate the quality of our services and the added benefit of our Lifetime Protection Plans,” said Andy Baldassarre, BG’s new Director of Training. “That’s where training comes in.”

“We’re the leader in innovation for the automotive aftermarket,” said Greseth. “And this new addition will help us stay that way.”
The project is expected to be completed within 18-24 months. Designed by SJCF Architecture and Professional Engineering Consultants, P.A., the 34,000-square-foot facility will allow for more staff and result in the hiring of at least 11 more employees within the next two years.
