Job purpose

The Content Strategy Specialist is an integral member of the Content team as a skilled individual who has experience in both exceptional copy-editing and collaborating with clients and stakeholders, both internally and externally, and can research and report on findings to develop relevant an engaging content. As well as responsibility in driving the ongoing research of SEO in order to optimize digital marketing content delivery on the Company website, social media channels and overall content campaign efforts. The optimized content developed will extend across digital and social channels and various forms of copy to drive awareness, engagement, and conversion across all segments to ensure the best possible experience for end-users.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with Director of Training and Marketing and Content Strategy Manager, build out and execute against a comprehensive content strategy and calendar that includes a social media strategy that feeds across all channels and mediums
  • Oversee coordination of the adaptation and translation of marketing materials (Product & Media) for use outside the USA, collaborating with an external translation agency
  • Create and maintain documents that may be used to cross-reference product and service information so that when a change is made, subsequent connected information will be updated, and obsolete information removed
  • Participate in the development or implementation of online market strategy
  • Identify appropriate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and report key metrics from digital campaigns
  • Solicit information from subject matter experts in R&D, Sales, and Training Departments for content development and internal/external content release to target audiences
  • Create and maintain documents that may be used to cross-reference product and service information so that when a change is made, subsequent connected information will be updated, and obsolete information removed
  • Cultivate a solid understanding of our business and the emotional connection of our services to both our B2B customers (Dealerships and Independent Shops) and the DIFM consumer.
  • Recommend new content to align with business strategies globally. Help identify content for global release or designated toward a more targeted region for maximum relevancy and impact
  • Create strategic and innovative branding elements for digital, social media, PR, white papers in written (print / digital), video, or audio format and occasionally other online applications for new digital approaches to meet business objectives
  • Conduct online marketing initiatives, such as paid ad placement, affiliate programs, sponsorship programs, email promotions, or viral marketing campaigns on social media websites
  • In collaboration with the Content Team, optimize and maintain a structured project process for content creation, revisions, and SME approval
  • Make recommended content decisions and edit revisions based on Analytics reporting
  • Ensure new and existing content remain accurate to current messaging standard and direction
  • Oversee keyword research, campaign planning, quality content editing, content distribution and analysis within digital, social media, PR, white papers in written (print / digital), video, or audio format and occasionally other online applications for new digital approaches to meet business objectives
  • Lead role in Google AdWords and Analytics, collect and analyze web metrics, such as visits, time on site, page views per visit, transaction volume and revenue, traffic mix, click-through rates, conversion rates, cost per acquisition, of costs per click
  • Research and execute social, digital, and SEM media buys and manage ad schedule as determined by the Director of Training and Marketing and Content Strategy Manager
  • Management of all social media platforms including: Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn, & Pinterest
  • Comfortable in responding to comments and questions on social media platforms as guided by the Content Strategy Manager and Subject Mater Experts (SMEs)
  • Able to schedule and organize website and social media content
  • Guide content and web teams to create high-quality, accurate web content based on company-defined editorial standards, compliance standards, and SEO best practices
  • Lead impactful editing of scripts for videos, sales content, posts to drive B2B & B2C engagement and call-to-action
  • Guide Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in writing &/or editing their material for external publications, training, bulletins, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or applicable major is required.
  • Three to Five (3-5) years of relevant experience strongly preferred
  • Experience in lieu of education will be considered
  • Experience with SEO/SEM best practices and applications as well as social and web analytics strongly preferred
  • Experience with web creation, design and editing software, and social and web analytics strongly preferred
  • Experience as a professional writer/editor strongly preferred
  • Understanding of basic graphic design fundamentals
  • Ability to create and edit images using software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or InDesign
  • Experience with Content Management Systems
