Regional Market Manager, International

Position Summary:
The Regional Market Manager (RMM) will work with BG Distributors in a collaborative partnership to assist the Distributor with business assessment and planning, implementing a maintenance awareness marketing and sales strategy, sales and technical training, customer cultivation, retention and general territory development. The RMM will help facilitate communication among Distributors within his area of responsibility, as well as help coordinate BG University activity within the area.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Assist in and monitor Sales Growth and Market Penetration within assigned territories by performing duties as an advocate for distributors, within Business Code of Conduct & Ethics guidelines, and by maintaining company core values.
- Perform Market Research needed to identify new markets and assist company with identifying New Distributor prospects as required.
- Coordination with Government Agencies, Professional Organizations to ensure product environmental compliance and regulatory matters are managed properly.
- Distributor Development
- Assist in general territory development and business planning as appropriate, including diversification/market segmentation.
- Train and support distributors in accessing BG Nexus, Marketing Databases and other corporate support resources and keep them updated on Company products, services and programs.
- Design and implement on-going sales and marketing training programs, particularly in a “train the trainer” capacity, to include general sales and marketing knowledge and skills, product demonstrations, route management, dealer fixed operations support and customer retention data management and programming.
- Assist with BG University and Area-based training, to include instructional roles as appropriate.
- Represent BG at trade shows.
- Assist with OEM Cultivation.
- Provide market and competitor feedback as part of an ongoing appraisal of the strategic business environment.
- Collaborate with Customer Service, distributors, vendors and are agencies to facilitate Supply Chain Management.
- Submit regular reports summarizing activity, expenditures, projected needs and other issues as required.
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required, International Business Degree preferred.
- Experience working across several countries within the broader European Market preferred.
- Three (3) years or more successful sales with automotive maintenance services market preferred.
- Should be able to perform or easily learn main product demos, understand maintenance awareness programs, be familiar with the DMS and dealership / independent service center operations, and have an understanding of sales/marketing program development and evaluation.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to speak/write fluent English; ability to speak German and French preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, oral and written, with very good interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Ability to maintain a professional manner and appearance in a variety of work related situations.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products, including PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
- Ability to work effectively and positively in a collaborative team environment, and in support of partners, associates, and customers.
- Ability to think and act independently.
- Proactive, tactful and self-motivated nature.
- Proven ability to effectively teach a selling process from prospecting through closing.
- Solid analytic, market research, business planning and management skills required.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to travel internationally/domestically for extended periods of time, and sometimes sit for prolonged periods of time.
- Must have adequate manual dexterity to write legibly and perform required duties on a computer.
- Must have adequate visual acuity to read, interpret and transcribe complex written materials
- Requires a normal range of hearing as well as clear speaking abilities so as to interact appropriately with others; both in person and by telephone. Some duties may require twisting, bending and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment:
- The work environment will vary based upon the distributorships, trade shows and the work environment of distributor’s customers. A high percentage of job duties are performed in the field while traveling internationally.
